Nokia N770 Internet Tablet
I wooted this little baby the other day for $135 shipped and have been playing with it since yesterday evening. It’s an internet tablet, and allows you to do far more than most low-end PDA type gadgets. I’ve never been that much of an electronic toy person so I don’t have a lot of experience with the numerous different types of things out there that allow you to connect to the internet via wifi vice whatever you happen to have for your cellular plan. It runs a variant of Debian Linux with the 2.6.12 kernel. The device has dimensions of 5.5×3.1×0.7 inches, making it roughly the same size as a PSP.

Brother MFC-7420
Some time ago, my old printer died and I couldn’t decide what to replace it with. I no longer wanted to go the route of ink jet, and laser printers were a little cost prohibitive for me, at least for the ones I really wanted anyway. Cue the MFC-7420 from Brother. The only negative thing I can say so far is that it lacks built-in Ethernet support, but that’s really a minor complaint given how many features this thing packs for the money. It is a printer, scanner, copier, with both standalone and PC fax capabilities. This was important because I do not have a land line at my house.
Full specifications available from the manufacturer’s product page.
